A report from the Liverpool assistant manager's hometown claims that he is preparing to succeed Arsene once the season ends.

Zeljko Buvac’s absence from Liverpool remains under a cloud of suspicion. The club insists that even though he is only temporarily away from the Reds, he is still an employee of the Merseyside giant, but rumors now link him with a move to Arsenal.

Klopp’s assistant manager is on a leave of absence, as confirmed by the Champions League semi-finalist. Buvac will not even travel with the team for their second-leg clash with Roma on Wednesday. Pravada BL now claims that he will end his 17-year partnership with Jurgen to take over at the Emirates Stadium next season.

The Bosnian newspaper argues that Klopp’s right-hand man, who will spend time away from the first team until the end of the season, is not truly away due to personal reasons. Instead, he is recharging his batteries before possibly become the number one tactician at the Gunners.

While the Bosnian has not been linked with the soon-to-be vacant managing role before and will not be a popular choice among Arsenal’s fan base, there are reasons to believe this report. Firstly, Pravada BL cannot be brushed off as an unreliable source, as they revealed that the 56-year-old would follow Jurgen to Anfield before it was even official.

Additionally, the Sven Mislintat factor should not be overlooked. The Arsenal head of recruitment knows Buvac from their time together at Dortmund and could pave the way for his arrival.

Zeljko might not be the most experienced candidate to succeed Arsene Wenger, but he could adhere to the north London side’s demands. While the likes of Allegri and Enrique will insist for huge wages and a substantial transfer budget, the Bosnian could work under Arsenal’s financial constraints without a protest.
