Petr Cech
Cech is actually not having the best of moments in his career right now. The highly-esteemed goalkeeper has conceded 22 goals in 26 Premier League starts for Chelsea, but he also has 74 saves on his account. Impressive or not, he is expected to protect the Blues’ post against Manchester United this evening, and this means nothing but danger and a warning for the Red Devils’ Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov.
John Terry
John Terry is the one who got the first and last goal in the last Chelsea vs Manchester United match in the Premier League. It was his second-half winning header which silenced the Mancunians at the Stamford Bridge at the beginning of last season. Away from his ability to score important headers, Terry can be regarded as the rock of Chelsea’s defense. He has so often been the main helper in the Blues’ defense against the league leaders. This time around, he could well show his greatness on another occasion by helping Petr Cech to keep a clean sheet. Presumably, a goal from the English captain would be more than ideal, but this might not be Terry’s priority, as his tasks at the back are unbelievably massive.
Ashley Cole
To play against the England defender, tricks and strength are advised to be applied. Cole does not only defend; he is also very active and helpful in counter-attacks. He currently has 2 assists in the Premier League, and 3 yellow cards. His behavior is not always as intolerable as many say it is; but in any case, United’s front-men will need real power and organization in front to bypass the lasers of the Chelsea back player. Following his eligibility to perform this evening despite his recent incident, Ashley Cole is likely to be in charge of Luis Nani.
Frank Lampard
The midfielder is normally admired for his talent and mental power, but he has not always been active this season due to a temporarily decline in his health. Lampard is presently fit enough to face the Red Devils, and his strong willingness to excel against Manchester United could make him an influential fighter on the field at the Stamford Bridge.
Fernando Torres
Torres has a lot to prove to Chelsea’s staff and fans, considering the fact that he still has not appeared as a useful fighter since his landing at the club late in January. In his time at Liverpool, Torres certainly was good in scoring against top teams, and he might show his “true colors” this evening against Manchester United. Although he might not be the most powerful striker physically in the Blues’ squad, creative and intelligent moves from his helpers in front and in the midfield could help take hold of a few precious chances. His presence should therefore appear as a “threat” for the visitors.
