Wenger is ready to bolster his attack for next season, getting both good and bad news in the transfer market.

Arsene Wenger is serious in this summer transfer window, as transfer rumors suggest. The Frenchman is ready to bolster his attack to mount a serious title challenge next season – and possibly win the Premier League for the first time since 03/04.

Unsurprisingly, Le Prof has turned to Ligue 1 champions Monaco for a new forward. Wenger has identified Thomas Lemar as an ideal target, and is closing in on a deal for the 21-year-old (as per the Daily Mail).

Lemar was one of many young talents to impress for the French champions last season, scoring 14 and assisting 17 en route to winning the league and reaching the Champions League semi-final.

Talks have begun well, and the north London outfit are thus confident that this deal will be completed without complications. Monaco value Lemar at £30m, a significantly cheaper option than the highly-sought after Kylian Mbappe.

Lemar isn’t the only Ligue 1 attacker on Wenger’s radar. The Gunners boss is also chasing after Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette, an in-demand proven goalscorer.

Despite reportedly being closing to signing Lacazette, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas squashed rumors of a Parc Olympique Lyonnais exit for the 26-year-old.

Aulas told Canal Plus: “I do not think that Alexandre Lacazette will leave this summer.

“I do not have anything to say about Olivier Giroud. We're interested. Things haven't advanced.”
