The Italian, who has kept a low profile since being fired by the Foxes, discussed his King Power Stadium exit.

A month has gone by since Claudio Ranieri, the manager that won the most remarkable Premier League title in history, was sacked. The beloved boss was gone, and an uproar followed; now, things have calmed down at the King Power Stadium.

With the Foxes back in form under Craig Shakespeare, the Tinkerman has finally broken his silence. Ranieri had kept a low profile since his sacking, but spoke about his sacking in an on-stage appearance.

The 65-year-old attended a ceremony at at Rebibbia prison in Italy to honor regional coaches. Ranieri opened up about how it felt being fired by a club nine months after guiding them to the league.

“Thinking of Leicester, the first thing that comes to mind is the sense of surprise, even more than bitterness,” Gazzetta dello Sport quote Claudio as saying.

“I have been through a lot in my long career, but never anything like this.

“It was a shock, but in the end these things are part of football.”

The former Leicester boss remained tight-lipped for the most part. He insisted he will reveal more on April 10 when he makes a pundit appearance on Sky Sports for Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace.

The Foxes were hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone when Ranieri was given the boot, but have climbed to 15th and are through to the Champions League final. Leicester will take on Stoke on April 1 when play resumes in the English top-flight.
