The Belgian ace reportedly informed the Toffees on Tuesday that he won't be signing a new contract.

Everton received the worst possible news on Tuesday: star striker Romelu Lukaku won’t be signing a new contract with the Toffees. This comes after days of speculation regarding the Belgian ace’s future with the Merseyside club.

The 23-year-old informed his employers that he is not interest in extending his Goodison Park stay. Everton are willing to break their pay structure for their all-time leading goalscore, offering him in the region of £130,000 per week, but were shocked to find out he isn’t interest in staying.

The Toffees believed contract negotiations with the former Chelsea man was mere formality. The player’s agent Mino Raiola publicly claimed that chances of Lukaku committing to Ronald Koeman’s side was “99.99 per cent”.

Due to the former Chelsea striker’s excellent form this campaign, he won’t be short of admirers. Lukaku, keen on playing in the Champions League next season, is the top scorer with 19 goals.

The Daily Mail claim that Man United and Chelsea are favorites to sign Lukaku. The Blues were interested in the Everton ace, but Antonio Conte’s side failed to make an official bid.

However, now that Diego Costa’s future is under question, the Premier League leaders could return to the Belgian. The Red Devils are another interested party, where Pogba – a close friend of Lukaku – plays.

Romelu wouldn’t mind working with Mourinho once more despite the fact that the Special One sanctioned the player’s sale from Chelsea. The Toffees could demand more that £65m for the 23-year-old.
