Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane suffered a horrific ankle injury against Milwall in the quarter-final of their FA Cup clash on Sunday. Spurs won the match 6-0 with Heung-Min Son scoring a hattrick, but Kane's injury gave the home fans little to celebrate about.
And the injury itself did not look good - the England international twisted his ankle after a nasty tackle from a Wimwall defender inside the opponent's box as he attempted to hit the ball into the net. The sliding tackle sent the 23-year-old sliding off the pitch as he grabbed his ankle, writhing in pain. His injury comes at a time when the Lillywhites are in firm contention for the FA Cup this season, and still have hopes of toppling leaders Chelsea at the top of the league table. The North Londoners are currently second on the log with 56 points, 10 less than leaders Chelsea. And Kane has played a pivotal role in the North Londoners' rise this season - he has scored 24 goals in 28 games so far, and provided four assists. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino provided the following update moments after the match:
"After the scan we'll know how his ankle is - we're disappointed."
