Here's the latest on Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young's future at Man Utd following the recent transfer speculations.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has opened up about the recent transfer speculations surrounding the club's duo of Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young. The two superstars have been linked with a move out of the club in the recent past.

Rooney is said to have attracted interest from a number of Chinese Super League clubs, while Young is believed to be  a top target for Swansea and West Brom. But according to the Portuguese tactician, none of these two players (pictured below) will leave Old Trafford before the summer. The ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid boss explained that the club had already lost two players in the transfer market and that there were no roomx for further transfers. He was referring to Memphis Depay who joined Ligue 1 outfit Lyon and Morgan Schneiderlin who joined Merseyside club Everton earlier this month.

Asked whether the club's all-time top goal scorer would still be available for the rest of the season, Mou replied:

“Yeah. We don’t have players in, we don’t have players out, we lost two players from the squad. You can say Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin did not play a lot, but the reality is they played some matches, and when they did, others didn’t, and when they played, others were rested. When Schneiderlin played, it meant [PAUL]Pogba, [MICHAEL]Carrick or [ANDER]Herrera didn’t.

“You lose players sometimes it does not look important because they were not first-choice players, but in the end they’re important if someone is going to have a difficult season. I hope that’s us and we’re in the cup competitions.

“We have the Manchester City match postponed [because of the EFL Cup final], we have the Blackburn Rovers match [IN THE FA CUP]and if we win we will have another match to be postponed we are in the Europa League with more matches, so our situation is really difficult.”

About Young, he added:

“He’s definitely staying.”

The 54-year-old manager also confirmed that both Rooney, Eric Bailly and Young would make it to his squad to face Hull City. The red devils play the tigers at Old Trafford on Wednesday February 1 at 12:00 pm PST/ 15:00 EST.
