Carlos Tevez could become the world's highest paid footballer, topping Cristiano Ronaldo from the top.

Carlos Tevez is a trademark name in international football, having plied his trade for popular clubs such as Juventus, Corinthians, West Ham United, Manchester City and most-recently, Boca Juniors. The argentine is now back on the headlines but this time round, not for his goal-scoring form.

According to Argentina’s La Nacion newspaper, Tevez, 32, could earn approximately $760,000 a week at Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua. But it seems it would not be easy for the ex-Red Devil to leave his childhood club, Boca Juniors.

This was evident on Sunday when he scored his team’s second goal in the 4-1 rout of Colon. A section of the club’s fans could be heard chanting (Carlitos is Boca and will not leave Boca). Another fan (pictured below) dashed into the pitch and hugged the fan-favorite player, begging him to stay. Tevez's fan begs him not to leave Boca Juniors
