Former Manchester United player, Carlos Tevez, is at the centre of controversy following his club’s dramatic triumph in the 2011/12 English Premier League.

During the parade of the Premier League title, striker Carlos Tevez received a poster of a fan and branded it to the crowd. The poster wrote “R.I.P Fergie” in reference to a comment Sir Alex Ferguson made earlier in the campaign.
The Manchester United manager had declared that Manchester City would never be crowned league champions during his lifetime. Explaining his gesture, Carlos Tevez revealed in a statement:
“I got carried away in the excitement of the moment and I certainly didn't mean any disrespect to Sir Alex Ferguson, whom I admire as a man and a manager.”
Football is a beautiful game. Manchester City and Manchester United both owe the fans a terrific spectacle on Monday night.
Manchester City vs Manchester United – the awesome clash of numbers
This fixture has much at stake for the two teams involved. It is an opportunity for the Citizens to finally get back to the summit of the English Premier League table. The match also presents a glorious chance for the Red Devils to cruise into comfort zone ahead of Matchday 37 and Matchday 38.
Remarkably, Manchester City and Manchester United share equal statistics in various areas. The Citizens and the Red Devils both gather a possession time average of 57 per cent. These two local rivals also have a passing accuracy rate of 85 per cent. Antonio Valencia and David Silva both have 13 assists in their name.
The Italian champions are the odds on favourites to secure the services of the explosive Argentine.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is likely to continue his career at AC Milan, after reports indicated that the controversial Argentine international rejected an offer to join Inter Milan in favour of their arch-rivals.
According to Calciomercato Tevez's agent "[Kia] Joorabchian said no to Marco Branca," the sporting director of Inter, who was in charge of negotiating the striker's possible transfer to the club.
It also stated that "Tevez had shown his desire to play for Milan, alongside [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic," the Swedish striker, who recently admitted that if Tevez were to join Milan he would help him "score lots of goals with the Rossoneri jersey."
The skilful Brazilian striker's future could depend on the outcome of another potential transfer.

Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has converted himself in the prime objective of Paris Saint-Germain in the Winter transfer window, but the AC Milan goal-poacher will only move to the French side if the Rossineri sign Argentine striker Carlos Tevez from Manchester City, affirmed L'Equipe.
Pato, who is still only 22 years of age, could move to PSG depending on whether the French side are willing to put €50 million on the table to make up for the two and a half year contract that he continues to have with Milan, something which seems quite improbable.
Meanwhile, directors of PSG took advantage of their club's recent friendly match with AC Milan in Doha on Wednesday to reunite with the Brazilians agent. Incidentally, Pato scored in the 4th minute to hand Milan a 1-0 victory over the French side.
Carlos Tevez is one of the least popular men in the city of Manchester right now, and is one of the few players disliked by fans of both United and City.

This past summer Tevez criticized Manchester as a city, stating that the weather was cold enough and only two restaurants existed as a social attraction. It was hard to sympathize with Tevez for his predicament regarding the city he lived in.
After all, when Tevez left Manchester United in the summer of 2009, he chose to join a team based in…Manchester.
Despite his unpredictable behavior, Tevez had always been able to rely on the support of the Manchester City fans. The blue half of Manchester forgave his indiscretions, as they knew the Argentine’s on-field value would benefit their club.
After refusing to play for the club in their 2-0 UEFA Champions League at Bayern Munich this season, Tevez lost any goodwill he had with the Eastlands support, and alienated himself from his team.
Carlos Tevez could be on his way back to Brazil, after the president of Corinthians claimed that they will make another offer for the player.

Andres Sanchez, the president of Brazilian league leaders Corinthians, affirmed that the club are preparing a new offer in an attempt to re-sign out of favour Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez. Corinthians, Brazil's wealthiest club, invested big-money in bringing the Argentine international to the Timao in 2005, and will do their utmost to count with the player's services for a second time.
"At the end of the year we will have another go, it won't be of 40 million (euros), but we will try something," declared Sanchez, during a press conference on Wednesday.
Sanchez assured that Corinthians "have sources to pay" and he outlined the fact that the fans will respond with larger turnouts (to matches) and from buying shirts.
Manchester City returned to Premier League play this past weekend with an emphatic 4-0 destruction of Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Rovers defended stoutly for almost an hour, before Adam Johnson opened the scoring with a spectacular curling effort to give City a 1-0 lead. Mario Balotelli doubled the City lead three minutes later when he volleyed home Samir Nasri’s cross.
Nasri himself got on the score sheet in the 73rd minute, before defender Stefan Savic iced the game with an 87th minute header.
The win leaves City behind league leaders Manchester United on goal difference alone, and will have raised morale after what had been a turbulent week.
On Tuesday night City traveled to Germany and were convincingly beaten 2-0 by Bayern Munich. A Mario Gomez brace handed City defeat and there was clearly a gulf in class between the two teams on the night.
Chelsea earned a hard fought point to stay on top of UEFA Champions League Group E with a 1-1 draw at Valencia.

In a week where the selfish ego of Carlos Tevez has dominated headlines, it was noticeable that another star player who spent excessive time on the bench made a positive impact for the Blues.
Lampard has found himself on the bench more often than he would like for both club and country of late, but the midfielder is choosing to act like a grown man and fight for his place like a true professional.
A few tabloid newspapers chose to highlight the fact that Lampard headed to the dressing room five minutes before the end of Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Swansea City. Sadly, while they were busy trying to create a scandal, those newspapers neglected to mention the fact that Lampard put himself through a full training session on the Stamford Bridge pitch that night immediately after the game.
Manchester City fell 2-0 at Bayern Munich in UEFA Champions League Group A play, but manager Roberto Mancini showed excellent leadership in a difficult time.

City started brightly against in-form Bayern, and had two penalty appeals waved away in the first half. With seven minutes remaining in the half, Mario Gomez put Bayern Munich in front when he turned home the rebound after a Joe Hart save.
During injury time at the end of the first half, Hart produced another save only for Gomez to pounce once more and give Bayern a 2-0 lead.
City could not find a way though in the second half, and Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko let their own personal emotions and egos take center stage. Roberto Mancini did an excellent job of keeping the focus on the group over the individual.
Mancini can’t take it anymore. Carlos Tevez’s attitude in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich was simply too disrespectful for the City manager to accept.

The Sky Blues’ European campaign suffered a blow as group favorites Bayern Munich triumphed 2-0 at the Allianz Arena. For a big portion of football fans and pundits, a defeat for Man City was predictable considering Bayern Munich’s current hot form besides the Germans’ experience in the Champions League.
Eventually, what grabbed the headline was Carlos Tevez’s refusal to come off the bench as a substitute. In an upset mood, Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini spoke to reporters after the game and revealed his decision to boot out the Argentine striker. Mancini was quoted as saying:
Micah Richards remains pessimistic about Manchester City's chances of coping well at the top level should Carlos Tevez leave the club this summer.

Manchester City are apparently planning ahead of a life without top striker Carlos Tevez. Although Tevez’s wish of quitting Eastlands suffered a huge setback following Corinthians’ failure to finalize a deal, it is still speculated that Tevez won’t be a Manchester City player come the 2011/2012 season.
But one person who has come out with pessimistic thoughts is Micah Richards. The defender has tipped superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the only players that could replace Carlos Tevez at Manchester City.
Without Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli could get the entire stage to transform into Manchester City’s hero according to Micah Richards.

Mario Balotelli is widely portrayed as the bad kid in football. His hot tempered behavior on the pitch, his tendency to not celebrate goals and his offensive statements against other professionals in the sport have destroyed his young career.
Balotelli has been warned by Italy coach Cesare Prandelli and Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini at several occasions. For team mate Micah Richards, the upcoming season could mark the beginning of much better things to come from Balotelli if Carlos Tevez quits the City of Manchester Stadium.
Sergio Aguero will soon be honoring the colors of Manchester United rivals Manchester City according to The Sun.

Fresh reports indicate that the Argentina forward could land at Eastlands for £38M following his decision to leave Atletico Madrid this summer. Sergio Aguero, who had been under Real Madrid’s radar, was also a target for Juventus. However, Manchester City look so close to officially winning the race.
Coach Roberto Mancini commentated on the talent of Kun only to increase speculations of an almost done deal between Atletico Madrid and Man City. English magazine The Sun quoted Mancini as saying:
“Aguero is young and can start to score a lot. He will become a top striker. He is 23 and now is his time. He is like Carlos Tevez and could play with Carlos, or Edin Dzeko or Mario Balotelli.”
The uncovered future of Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and Neymar has made this summer’s transfer window an intriguing one…
Neymar to Real Madrid? No thanks! Bury this possibility
Three weeks ago, fans of Barcelona, Chelsea or Real Madrid were drooling at the mention of Neymar’s name. But Barca preferred to focus their attention on Chile’s Alexis Sanchez while new Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas officially distanced himself from transfer business this summer.
Meanwhile, Santos were playing the biggest-bid game and Real Madrid eventually got revealed as Neymar’s most serious hunters.
Brazil and Chile must secure the game in 90 minutes to avoid an awkward surprise this Sunday.

A smart, tactical football gave Peru and Uruguay the opportunity to outwit the alleged candidates and advance to the semi-finals. Despite showing some of their best football, Argentina and Colombia are out.
What's the logic behind these two unexpected results, and most importantly, what can Brazil and Chile learn from them? Argentina fell at Colon's "Elephant's Graveyard", a legendary stadium in which endless major teams have fell throughout history.
Brazil prepares for a tough clash against Paraguay. From a tactical point of view, I believe this game may resemble Argentina's, with the Scratch dominating the game while Paraguay try to take advantage of their aerial superiority.
Chile's coach Claudio Borghi misses playmaker Matias Fernandez, whose form was vital for La Roja to qualify as Group C leader. Do Chile have what it takes to defeat Venezuela, a goal neither Brazil nor Paraguay managed to achieve during the first stage?
El Apache has been included ahead of the Copa America's kick off. "He earned his place all by himself" said Argentina's coach.

Carlos Tevez was one of the leaders in Maradona's Argentina squad in South Africa, but a problem emerged as the Apache missed a friendly match with Brazil back in November in Qatar. An alleged injury gave birth to a dispute that could have left Tevez out of the 2011 Copa America. However, the former Boca Juniors striker asked for a personal meeting last month with coach Sergio Batista, showing his determination to lead Argentina towards victory in July.
Batista's starting XI favored Angel Di Maria in Argentina's last friendly against Albania, but substitute Carlos Tevez proved his worth in the second half by scoring a delightful goal. Following the actions of Alfio Basile, Diego Maradona, Carlos Pekerman and Marcelo Bielsa, Batista was also eventually forced to admit that Tevez deserved a place in the starting eleven.
After going 18 years without knowing glory in the Copa America, Argentina’s Albicelestes have given themselves a task with two options. They must win or win.

The 2011 Copa America will be played in Argentina and there’s no way Batista’s men would want to see the cup leaving their country. “We did what we knew how to do and we’ve got to play this way against whichever team we play,” said an ambitious Lionel Messi following Argentina’s 4-0 demolishing of Albania a few days ago.
Most pundits and fans might think the time has come for the Albicelestes to at last clinch silverware. In fact, Sergio Batista could be considered a very lucky coach with the likes of star strikers such as Aguero, Tevez and two-time world best player Lionel Messi at his disposal. Above all, there have been no reports of major injury blows from the camp of the Argentines so far.
Roberto Mancini claims that Carlos Tevez has told him that he wants to stay at Eastlands next season.

Manchester City have had a very successful season of football so far, ensuring Champions League qualification for next season as well as winning the oldest trophy in world football, the FA Cup. However, the future of their talisman Carlos Tevez has been a subject of intense speculation throughout the season after a reported fall-out with City's manager, Roberto Mancini.
The Argentinean striker handed in a transfer request earlier in the season but it was subsequently rejected as City made it clear that they will not be letting go of their most prized asset easily. However, recent success at Eastlands is rumored to have convinced Tevez to stay put with City and Mancini has now confirmed that speculation.
The Blue Half of Manchester have been revitalized once again. Should world football fear Roberto Mancini and men?
35 years Manchester City fans suffered from humiliation when compared to their imminent local rivals. Nevertheless, last week was arguably their best period of time for the last five decades or so. Going up against a battered Spurs team at the City of Manchester Stadium was a tricky tie while their FA Cup final clash against Stoke City was more of a traditional-unpredictable FA Cup pairing. An own goal by Peter Crouch and a typical powerful drive from Yaya Toure was all they needed to craft themselves into the history books of Manchester City.
When Thaksin Shinawatra took over the reigns at Eastlands four years ago, expectations were absolutely towering ahead for the long-suffering fans and the sight of Geovanni smacking in a winner against Manchester United was probably the best tonic needed for their already hiking optimism level. Strangely enough, the Brazilian is being deemed as not good enough for the Premier League standards but can be justified by City's faded season under Sven.
Carlos Tevez out? Troublesome Balotelli staying? Big money splashed on the market again? What are Manchester City cooking ahead of this summer’s transfer window?

With City’s owner converting the club’s £350M debts into shares earlier this year, the path seems clear for more action on the transfer market this summer. In an interview conducted by The Sun back in January, Manchester City chief financial officer Graham Wallace was quoted as saying:
“The owner’s decision to convert debt to equity is in line with their previously-stated financial strategy. This is fantastic news for supporters of Manchester City—whose club is now on a secure financial foundation that gives a tremendous platform to build from in the future.”
Despite spending around £200M on players only since the beginning of the Sheik Mansour era, Manchester City are not finished yet in terms of signings, according to Tottenham Hotspur’s embarrassed Harry Redknapp. The English man voiced out his concerns to The Sun:
