Agustin Orion, the talented goalkeeper of Argentine champions Boca Juniors, believes that playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme is the club's greatest asset today and that it is a great pleasure to be able to count with his services within the squad.

After six rounds of the Argentine Clausura championship, Boca find themselves in second place with 13 points, one point behind league leaders Tigre, with 14. Boca Juniors defeat arch-rivals River Plate for the second time in a week thanks to a first-half strike from Pablo Mouche.
The Argentine champions reaffirmed their supremacy over their crosstown rivals with a 1-0 triumph at the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in Mendoza on Sunday, which won them the Copa Luis Nofal.

A first-half header from skilful winger Pablo Mouche was enough to give Boca Juniors a justified victory over a evidently inferior River Plate outfit.

Los Diablos Rojos snatched a win against the Argentine champions courtesy of Rolando Schiavi's last minute own goal.
An own goal from experienced defender Rolando Schiavi in the final moments of the game allowed Independiente to beat Boca Juniors 1-0 to hoist the Copa de Oro trophy in the city of Mar del Plata on Saturday.

When it seemed that the match was destined to end in a dull goalless draw, a horrible clearance from the Boca defense handed Independiente the only goal of the match.

Boca practically dominated the entire encounter but couldn't find a way past Independiente goalkeeper Hilario Navarro, who made a number of crucial saves throughout the game.

FIFA authorise Santiago Silva to join Argentine champions Boca Juniors

The 'Tank' was permitted to play for his third club inside a year by the international governing body of soccer.
Uruguayan striker Santiago Silva will be the latest reinforcement of Argentine champions Boca Juniors it was confirmed on Friday. Despite the imminent transfer, the player will only be able to participate in the Copa Libertadores in the first half of 2012.

Daniel Angelici, the president of Boca, revealed to Deportivo Telam that "half an hour ago FIFA approved that Silva can play for Boca in the Copa Libertadores."

Silva, 31, has been linked with a move to Boca for several weeks now, but the club were hesitant to purchase the player because they were unsure as to whether FIFA law would permit him to play for a third club within the space of a year.

"River will win 2-1," Sanchez declared to Radio Cooperativa program 'De cano vale doble' on Thursday.

Even if the match is still almost two weeks away, there has been ongoing talk about what the final outcome of the encounter will be, especially because for the first time in the history of the derby the teams don't find themselves in the same league division.

"For the quality of both squads, the difference won't be noticeable even if the teams play in different divisions," affirmed the former Godoy Cruz player.

The agent of Santiago Silva, Pablo Betancourt, discarded any possibilities of the Uruguayan striker returning to Velez Sarsfield, opening the door for a future transfer to Argentine Apertura champions Boca Juniors.

"We spoke with Velez, we reunited with them, but they couldn't buy out his contract. Now we can negotiate with other teams," the agent explained to TyC Sports on Friday.

Betancourt stated that if Boca want to purchase the striker first they would have to ask for the collaboration of the AFA so that the regulation would permit the Uruguayan to be eligible to play for three clubs in the space of a year.

Boca Juniors star Pablo Mouche admitted that he would be delighted to join Brazilian outfit Santos next season. The pacy winger has recently been linked with a move to the side from the Vila Belmiro as they intend to rebuild after their catastrophic defeat to Barcelona in the final of the Club World Cup earlier in December.

"I would love to. It would be a nice step, a step forward in my career. If it is good for the club and for me, this possibility, I would go delighted," Mouche said to La Red.

"It is a high-quality competition [the Brazilian Serie A], where excellent players have emerged from, who have gone on to Europe, and have returned as extraordinary players and of sublime caliber, like Ronaldinho.
