Many wondered whether they would shake hands. They did, but it was weird..

It was the question on everyone’s mind. With Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger being not so fond of each other, would the two managers shake hands before kick-off on Saturday?

The players walked out on to the pitch, as both Manchester United and Arsenal geared up for what many expected to be an exciting fixture. With the players pumped and ready to go, the Special One and Le Prof soon followed.

And then the two did it – shake hands, that is. The two walked over to each other and got done with the formality. However, that handshake was awkward, maybe the most awkward handshake you have ever seen between two managers.

Their hands were locked, but their eyes were not. Yes, Jose and Arsene shared a no-look handshake. Check it out in the pictures below.

What was the reason? Maybe Mourinho’s breath was bad; maybe Wenger was trying to avoid explaining his handshake snub during the Community Shield; or maybe they just let their distaste for one another get the best of them.
