Stoke City are currently in the drop zone; Manchester United are a club many pundits thought would battle Man City for the league crown.
However, when the two sides clashed on Sunday, it was the Red Devils who emerged out of the game embarrassed despite playing at Old Trafford.
The 20-time Premier League champions hosted the Potters but were unable to beat the away side regardless of all their chances.
Anthony Martial gave the home side the lead in the second half, but sloppy defending allowed Joe Allen to find the back of the net shortly before the final whistle, with the game ending 1-1.
Fans were frustrated, and understandably so, as Man United fell further behind in the title race. Despite the disappointing performance, Jose Mourinho surprised everyone after the final whistle by hailing his boys’ display.
The Special One was adamant that this was their best performance of the season, saying: “It was a much better performance than against Leicester. It was the best performance by far."
