Barca have competition in the race to land the Spanish right-back.

The January transfer window is nowhere in sight, yet Arsenal still have to worry about reports linking one of their most promising players with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

That man is none other than defender Hector Bellerin, a player whom is being targeted by Spanish giants. According to a recent report by SPORT, the Blaugrana have made the 21-year-old right-back their top target after seeing Dani Alves leave for Juve over the summer.

And if you thought fending off interest from the Catalan heavyweights is difficult, holding onto Bellerin may become more complicated, as another European giant appear to have entered the race for the Spaniard.

This is according to a report by the Mirror which claims that the interest is from within England, with current league leaders Manchester City being the culprit. The Citizens look to “exploit” a lack of progress in contract talks between the Gunners and the defender.

However, the player has three more years remaining on his current deal, meaning luring him away from north London will prove tricky. Furthermore, the Mirror claim that Arsenal contacted Txiki Begiristain, Man City’s director of football, to deliver an "angry hands-off warning”.

Pep Guardiola is a fan of Bellerin, and should the Arsenal youngster agree to an Etihad move, he’ll work under former team-mate turned co-assistant coach, Mikel Arteta.

This rumors comes amid recent speculation that Alexis Sanchez looks to force a Gunners exit in favor of Guardiola’s crew.
