Wenger may face an uphill battle to keep hold of their Chilea ace, with his contract due to expire in 2018.

Arsenal fans worrying over the status of star attacker Alexis Sanchez may begin panicking, as the Guardian claim that the former Barcelona man is stalling over a new deal in order to force an exit.

To add insult to injury, they write that the Chilean is not eyeing a move abroad (sorry, Juventus), but is instead keen on joining the Gunners’ English Premier League rivals Manchester City.

According to the report, the 27-year-old is hoping to catch the attention of Pep Guardiola, as the attacker is keen on joining the Spaniard’s side at the Etihad.

This is despite the fact that it has been just over two years since Sachez snubbed Liverpool and the Citizens for the north London outfit.

The article claims that Guardiola is in fact interested in the Copa America winner, but makes no mention of whether Man City will offer the South American ace a bumper deal or guaranteed first-team football.

Alexis is undoubtedly a huge asset to Arsene Wenger, as shown in his stats so far this campaign: three goals and one assist after only four games. An exit would serve Arsenal a huge blow in their hopes of winning the league.

The report by the Guardia also links Arsenal with an £80m bid Antoine Griezmann, the French star who lit up the Euro 2016, as the Atletico Madrid continues to garner rave reviews for his Spanish employers.
Could Griezmann be a replacement for Alexis Sanchez? Only time will tell.
