The Welshman lost his crown as the world's most expensive player when the French ace returned to Man United.

This summer transfer window saw a change in title for Gareth Bale, as the Real Madrid superstar lost his crown as the world’s most expensive player to Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman sealed a record breaking return to Manchester United worth £93.25m, a transfer fee which overshadowed the £85.3m cheque Real Madrid cut when signing the Welshman back in 2013.

However, the former Tottenham superstar admits he is unfazed by his recent dethroning, claiming “he couldn’t care less”.

He said, as per Sky Sports: "I'm not fussed and I couldn't care less. None of the players have pulled my leg on it."

Bale’s side found out their fate for the upcoming Champions League group stage, being paired against the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Sporting Lisbon, and Legia Warsaw.

The 11-time champions will be hoping to become the first side to win two consecutive trophies, but competition this season will be stiff.

One side that could pose a threat to Les Merengues’ hopes of retaining their crown is Bale’s former side Tottenham Hotspurs.

The Welshman admits he will root for the north London outfit, but it will be business if his former club cross path with his current employers.

"It is great to see Tottenham back and doing well," the 27-year-old added.

"I wish them well in the Champions League... until they play us!"
