Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho scored a brilliant free-kick goal against rivals Arsenal in their opening match of the 2016/17 Premier League season. The Reds were trailing by a solitary goal thanks to Theo Walcott’s opener in the 31st minute but with only a couple of seconds remaining to the end of first half, Liverpool won a free-kick near Arsenal’s box.
Coutinho then stepped up and fired the ball past the seven-man wall with goalkeeper Petr Cech well beaten. He was later substituted in the 68th minute after picking up an injury as he received a standing ovation from the club’s fans. Watch the golazo below recorded by a fan in the stands.
