As they’ll host Fulham on Wednesday, Chelsea are poised to get back to normal business. In order words, the Blues are expected to get back to winning ways.
They lost to Liverpool, but are still leading the way in the English Premier League. Chelsea have proven to be invincible at Stamford Bridge this season.

Five home matches, five home victories, 16 goals scored, and none allowed: that’s what statistics read at the envy of other clubs. So Chelsea’s defeat away to Liverpool isn’t something that will bother Coach Carlo Ancelotti too much as Sky Sports quoted him as saying on Sunday:

“We are still on top of the table [despite losing to Liverpool]. We don’t need to have a reaction. It’s impossible to win every game.

“I think my team showed good mentality and strength, so we don’t have to react. We just have to win the next game.”

In this case, it looks like Fulham will have no advantage over Chelsea in terms of psychological strength. What the Cottagers will have to rely on is their recent positive results. It started at home to Wigan Athletic two weeks ago with a 2-0 victory, then it followed with a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa. The last-gasp equalizer miraculously came through Hangeland at the relief of the home crowd. But for how long will Fulham’s unbeaten record last?

Well, the last time the Cottagers played away, they lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in a controversial manner. Fulham will have to look back at what happened on September 11th this year to remember the last time they picked up three good points in a stadium that isn’t theirs. Actually, no-one expects them to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

However, Fulham could well take something out of the game. The last time both teams met in Chelsea’s fortress, lack of concentration denied victory for the visitors. Will this play the trick once again against the Cottagers in favor of the Blues?
