"We've got Euro 2016 team news with Bastian Schweinsteiger set to start for Germany tonight," English club Manchester United tweeted.
The tweet did not resound too well among a handful of fans who replied with "sell him" and "announce Pogba". Either way, Schweini appears to have won his race against fitness and could very well help Germany to eliminate Man United transfer target Paul Pogba and the entire French squad this evening.
"I have the team in my head and Bastian Schweinsteiger will definitely start," coach Joachim Löw was quoted as telling the press, on Wednesday.
"I always said that if he trains 100 per cent without complaints then he will play. He trained this morning and had no complaints.
This morning, the World Cup winning manager further reassured supporters of Die Mannschaft by declaring:
"The injury is cured and he showed against Italy that he's got the strength to play from the start.
"I believe he's very, very important, particularly in such a game. His experience is very valuable.
We have three players - Gomez, Khedira and Hummels - who we have to replace. This is not easy, and this is why it is important that an experienced player like Bastian starts."
Against France, Schweinsteiger is set to become Germany's most capped player ever at the UEFA European Championship and World Cup
