France went head to head with Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday in a crucial UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying clash on Tuesday.
France held a one-point lead over second placed Bosnia and Herzegovina at the top of Group D, and the winner of this game in Paris would seal automatic qualification.

When all was said and done the French would seal qualification to their ninth successive major tournament courtesy of a 1-1 draw. The game would have a distinct Manchester City influence, as club teammates Edin Dzeko and Samir Nasri would score both goals.

Bosnia started quickest and Senad Lulic dispossessed Anthony Reveillere only to fire into the side netting. France hit back but Loic Remy was unable to convert after being sent one on one with goalkeeper Kenan Hasagic.

France vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Preview

Romania and Albania will have absolutely nothing to play for but pride in the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifiers come Tuesday night. All the focus in Group D will go to the France vs Bosnia and Herzegovina match.
The distance between the French and the Bosnians is extremely small. Bosnia and Herzegovina have the edge in terms of goal scored but France can boast of possessing the group’s best defense having conceded only thrice in 810 minutes of football.

One more thing which differentiates the French from the Bosnians is each team’s away record. Thanks to an unbeaten run away from home, Les Bleus have a 1-point lead over their upcoming counterparts.

France looked pretty well prepared for Tuesday’s battle in their penultimate game. Likewise, Bosnia and Herzegovina took a handful of their chances against minnows Luxembourg. Their 5-0 triumph last Friday currently stands as the biggest win in Group D.

Laurent Blanc led France to a deserved win against Albania on Friday night at the Stade de France.
News about Bosnia & Herzegovina’s trouncing of Luxembourg put Les Bleus under pressure early on. Thankfully for the home crowd, the French responded quite well to their demands.

The inclusion of Gomis, Patrice Evra, Florent Malouda and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri in Laurent Blanc’s lineup increased France’s chances of beating the Albanians who eventually were second-best throughout the match.

Cabaye was unlucky enough to see his 25-yard strike fly just wide. It was Florent Malouda who broke the deadlock. He opened the scoring with a deflected shot of which the cross came through the efforts of Remy.

Brazil triumphed over Portugal to clinch the2011 FIFA U-20 tournament's trophyGolden Ball and Golden Shoe winner Henrique didn’t steal the show as many were expecting. Instead, Oscar came to Brazil’s rescue with a hat-trick that stunned Portugal’s seemingly invincible Mika.

The Brazilian match hero put his side in front as early as inside the 5th minute but Alex and Nelson Oliveira rekindled the Portuguese’s hopes. With a quarter of an hour to go in normal time, Portugal looked to have one hand on the 2011 FIFA U-20 title.

However, Oscar’s skill and ambitious spirit proved that any defense can be troubled. A 78th minute equalizer sent the match into extra-time where Portugal couldn’t find the means to get another goal. Oscar turned up one more time with a 111th minute wonder strike—arguably the best of the tournament—as Brazil edged the 5-goal thriller.

USA have reached, in great style and at the public's expectations, the final of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup!
An early goal from Cheney gave the Americans some much needed confidence which seemed to transform into complacency at some point. In reply to the United States’ 1-0 lead, the brave French women refused to give up and dominated the USA for the most part of the first period.

Necib’s energy down the left wing gave a lot of problems to the Americans’ defense as Wambach seemed to have disappeared for a while. Not that surprising since Georges was instrumental for France at right-back. But the United States will need to thank Hope Solo for her tremendous performance in post. France's shots were so powerful that the rest of the story could have been miserable for the Americans.

Brazil’s number 1 goalkeeper Andreia could tell you best how it feels to be stunned by a last-second header from Wambach in a knock-out stage match. Team mate and defender Daiane could explain better what it means to score an own goal and have a penalty kick saved by Hope Solo under the influence of stress.
