At last, there’s good news for Liverpool… and it’s on the injury front! The Reds will welcome back Fernando Torres and Paul Konchesky for Sunday’s match against Everton.
Shifting our attention on matters off court issues surrounding Liverpool, Coach Roy Hodgson has declared that Spanish attacker Fernando Torres has beaten the clock to be fit in time to face the Merseyside Reds’ local rivals, Everton. The match is meant to receive a lot of attention from the media and the public – considering the administrational situation of Liverpool which adds to fierce atmosphere created by the rivalry between these two teams.

“Konchesky has made a good recovery as has Fernando Torres. So, all being well, we can welcome those two back,” Roy Hodgson declared at the relief of anxious Liverpool fans.

“Fernando’s season needs to kick start. He has been hampered a bit by injuries, and what happened at the World Cup. We see a livelier and a better Fernando every day.

“It was really unfortunate that he got that injury against Blackpool, but luckily, it came in the international break. So, he won’t miss anymore league game for us.”

But as Liverpool fans may start to jubilate about Fernando Torres’ return to action, they may also start to moan over a bad news; Dirk Kuyt is meant to be sidelined for up to three weeks with an ankle injury. The only good news in this sad news, ironically, is that the Dutch player won’t be out for months as it was previously feared after he injured his ankle against Sweden earlier on Tuesday.

Another piece of info suggests that Fabio Aurelio could also feature against Everton after recovering from an Achilles problem whereas Daniel Agger may be dropped following an injury he sustained while playing for Denmark during the international break.

Incredibly, Liverpool are 18th in the English Premier League as they prepare to take on Everton. Like their Merseyside rivals, the Toffees are having a tough time in the league this season. They are only one place above Liverpool through goal difference. Both teams have picked up only 6 points from 7 English Premier League matches.
