Man United have reportedly identified Luis Van Gaal's replacement, according to reports.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in hiring the services of Tottenham Hotspur tactician Mauricio Pochettino to replace Luis Van Gaal at Old Trafford, reports the Mirror. The Argentine has revived Spurs this season and managed to take them above Man United in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils are allegedly impressed by his recent achievements, having transformed Spurs to title contenders this season without drama or controversy. This is the same reason why the Old Trafford side was not quick to hire former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho because of his usual controversies on and off the pitch.

Meanwhile, the Mirror further claims that Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc has also been pointed out as a possible replacement for the embattled Luis Van Gaal. However, the Red Devils need to act fast if they have to secure Blanc’s signature because he is in talks with the French giants over a new contract.

Van Gaal could leave the club in the summer, having failed to guide the Premier League giants past the Champions League group stages this season. Man Utd have also been bundled out of the Capital One Cup and the top four slot.

To make things even worse for the Dutch tactician, his men struggled to beat League One side Sheffield United in their FA Cup fixture on Saturday at Old Trafford. The home fans booed their manager as he walked towards the tunnel at the end of the match, a gesture that raises further concern about his future.
