Could the three-time Ballon d'Or winner's reign in La Liga finally be coming to an end?

Rumors have constantly been speculating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid exit, despite the player, his agent, Los Blancos, and the manager saying otherwise.

Nonetheless, could the next summer transfer window finally see the Portuguese attacker’s reign in La Liga come to an end?

Defenders would breathe a sigh of relief, wouldn’t they?

This, of course, Ronaldo’s Real Madrid exit would require a domino effect in the transfer market to occur in order set this course into action.

According to the latest rumors, as reported by The Sunday Times (per MARCA), Los Blancos are eying a move for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

Les Merengues have long been admirers of the former Lille man, and despite Jose Mourinho claiming the player would cost "100 million pounds each leg" in an attempt to kill interest in the 24-year-old English Premier League star, the 10-time Champions League winners are willing to pay big money for the Belgian ace.

Hazard, however, is not the only player that Real Madrid are interested in that happens to be plying his trade in England. According to reports, another star on Rafael Benitez’s radar is Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian midfielder’s flare has dazzled the Anfield crowd since day one, and was a beacon of light in the club’s disappointing 2014-15 campaign.

Belief is that the Selecao international has outgrown the Reds, a club which appear as far from winning the Premier League crown as Mourinho is from burying the hatchet off his ill relationship with Wenger, and Real Madrid are ready to pounce.

President Florentino Perez is ready to cut a cheque for Hazard or Coutinho, or even both, and will welcome the prospect of cashing in on either Bale or Ronaldo in order to raise funds, with the later being heavily sought after by both Man United and PSG.

The three-time Ballon d’Or winner is the club’s all-time leading scorer in the Spanish Primera Division, but long has the player been talking up of a possible return to Old Trafford, the club where his entry into stardom took a meteoric rise.

Ronaldo’s relationship with Red Devils captain Wayne Rooney, a player whom Cristiano admitted to truly missing, might also pave the way for a return to United.

Could Ronaldo finally be headed back “home”?
