In the last 20 games against each other Lampard holds an advantage. L.A. Galaxy is on a three game-winning streak.

An old English Premier League rivalry will be renewed in the Major League Soccer stage when Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard meet each other at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. L.A. Galaxy expects to continue a positive streak and New York City needs the win desperately.

Lampard and Gerrard used to be rivals when one played for the Chelsea and the other one for Liverpool, until Frankie joined Manchester City in his last season in England. They have met a total of 20 times and most of the wins have gone Lampard’s way.

While most of the stats pile up favoring Lampard, the Liverpool legend wins when it comes to assists. Gerrard has two and his opponent on one. With that being said, if you expect someone to create a scoring chance, which would be Stevie G.

Head to head between the two English legendslampard vs steven gerrard

L.A. Galaxy has been getting better and better as the season goes on. The incorporation of Giovanni dos Santos has not only benefitted the attendance to games but the scoring record for the team for the West Coast team.

Los Angeles is coming off a three-game winning streak that has them as the first place in the Western Conference. On the other side, the brand new New York City FC franchise is in seventh place of the Eastern Conference.

This game is being considered as the most star-studded match in the history of the League. To the ones we already mentioned from L.A., New York is bringing Andrea Pirlo and David Villa as their other Designated Players.

This is the only time these two teams will meet in the season. In the last five games, New York has only won twice, and they can’t find consistency. They need to improve on that as the season is wrapping up quickly and playoff spots are not easy to get.
