The German ace shows why he was a fan-favorite during his Arsenal days with one simple tweet.

No wonder the German attacker was a fan-favorite .

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski, currently on loan with Serie A side Inter Milan, sent out a touching good luck tweet to the Gunners ahead of their FA Cup final, on Saturday.

Over a year to the day the 29-year-old helped the north London side beat Hull City 3-2 in last season's final and end their nine-year wait for silverware, the World Cup winner threw his support behind Arsenal to beat Aston Villa and retain their title.

A victory at Wembley for Arsene Wenger’s crew will see the London side end the season on a high, having grabbed third spot in the English Premier League and an automatic Champions League qualification.

Furthermore, should Arsenal beat Tim Sherwood’s side, they will surpass Manchester United’s tally of 11 trophies and become the most successful side in FA Cup history.

Taking to Twitter ahead of the final, Podolski tweeted:

The former Cologne striker showed he holds no resentment for the club and the legion of fans after being frozen out of the first-team by Le Prof, prior to his move to Italy.

Although Lukas is still an Arsenal player, a return to the Emirates looks unlikely for the German, with reports linking him with a switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray.
