France will continue their preparations for the Euro 2016 as they welcome Denmark to Saint-Ètienne. Being the host nation of the tournament, les Blues claimed automatic qualification to the tournament which means that they will use friendlies to ensure they are in the right shape before the major tournament.
They did not enjoy a positive outing last time out as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brazil. Raphael Varane's goal in the first half gave the hosts the lead. but the visitors responded with goals from Oscar, Neymar and Luis Gustavo to win the match.

Despite the defeat, France head coach Didier Deschamps remained in a positive mood maintaining that the defeat could do his side good, also praising the Brazilian side for making a response after a humiliating exit from the World Cup.

"It's hard," he said. "We were punished for our mistakes. The game turned on us in favour of a very fast Brazil side.

"When we were 2-1 down we had opportunities to get back level, but the match was over at 3-1. We had very little to play for in the last 10 minutes, hence the substitutes.

"Nevertheless, this game can be a positive thing for us, but we have to be fair and more effective in future. Brazil are preparing for the Copa America in June, our aim of Euro 2016 is more distant.

"Even though they were traumatised at the World Cup [losing 7-1 to Germany], they reached the semi-finals. It's good to have these sort of difficulties, it allows us to learn from our mistakes."

Denmark on the other hand played part in a scintillating encounter as they picked a 3-2 win over USA with all three goals coming from former Arsenal star Nicklas Bendtner. It was a well deserved hat-trick for the big Dane who scored two late goals to ensure his team picked up a victory from a losing position.
Denmark manager Morten Olsen praised the performance put by the Wolfsburg man and lauded the effort that he has put in training.

"Nicklas might have scored four or five goals," he told reporters. "On the other hand, though, we can not demand that he should score all of his chances.

"It is clear to see that the training efforts have been good for Nicklas recently. I have spoken with Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking and he has been very pleased with the effort Nicklas has put in.

"It has been difficult for him to get playing time because his competitor, Bas Dost, has scored every time he has hit the ball. Nicklas has kept his mouth shut and just kept on training."
