Stoke City, sitting eleventh in the table just after the midway point of a relatively good campaign, will welcome third placed Manchester United. United, after a rather poor start to the campaign have recovered; late recoveries in individual games was the their hallmark under Sir Alex Ferguson. All the pieces of the puzzle are starting to fit under Louis Van Gaal. United have four of their last six games, picking up 14 points in the process. They drew a blank against Tottenham Hotspur in White Hart Lane in their last match though. The other draw came against ten-man Aston Villa rather surpisingly. Meanwhile, Stoke have won three of their last six, picking up ten points overall. They recently recorded wins over West Bromwich Albion and Everton.
Both teams have long injury lists currently. Peter Odemwingie, Phil Bardsley, Steve Sidwell and Victor Moses have all been ruled out of this one for Stoke. Stephen Ireland is a doubt for this one as is Bojan Krkic; Bojan picked up a minor problem against WBA. Daley Blind, Adnan Januzaj, Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard and Marouane Fellaini are out for United. Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria are doubtful for this one. Meanwhile, Antonio Valencia is nursing a groing injury currently.
