According to rumors, the Mexican defender, who returned to active duty after coming down with an injury during the past World Cup, may rejoin his former coaches Mauricio Pocchetino or Louis Van Gaal.

Before this summer's World Cup, one of the most promising defenders available was Hector Moreno. The Mexican defender, former AZ Alkmaar player and currently with Espanyol had a great performance with his country's National Team, but coming down with an injury against The Netherlands stopped his desire to make a move to an European giant.

Yesterday, Hector Moreno staged his comeback with Los Periquitos during a friendly match against Olympique Marseille, playing 23 minutes and showing he can return shortly to his previous form. Moreno's comeback has reignited rumors regarding his future, since he was set to leave the Spanish team to rejoin his former coach Mauricio Pocchetino, currently coaching Tottenham. But the Spurs are not the only English side following Moreno, since Manchester United have kept an eye on the centerback for quite some time. The player's previous relationship with the Red Devils' head coach Louis Van Gaal may help Moreno decide where he will continue his career.

Asked about his desire to leave Espanyol, Moreno revealed he would not mind being transferred, as long as everyone benefits from his move.

"I know it would be good for the club if they can sell me. If I can help them that way, so be it. I don't mind that the team's executives say the club would sell me for the right price. I'm happy here, but I would consider moving if it helps them and it benefits my career," Moreno said.

Spanish newspapers have also rumored the Mexican could be set to depart Espanyol towards a Serie A or Bundesliga outfit, but it appears his future may be linked to play in the Premier League.
