The English international's words will perhaps please some Arsenal fans...while annoying Manchester United's supporters

Many players, once signing for a new club always enthuse about their excitment at being part of the team's project, and wax on and on about how it's a great opportunity, et al.

Quite a few also add the commonly used statement, "it's a dream come true" when being unveiled to the press and the team's fans.

Well, Danny Welbeck is no different in that regard. The Manchester United striker swapped the Red Devils for Arsenal on deadline day and is keen on proving his worth to Gunners supporters--many of whom were not excited about having him come on board.

However, his statements in his first official interview will certainly please some of them.

"It’s great to be a part of this club and it’s a team that I’ve always watched in the Premier League," he enthused to the club's official website.

"I’ve envisaged myself playing in this team before [whilst playing at Manchester United]. So, for it to finally happen is very exciting.

"I also think this is the next stage of my development – to come to Arsenal, to really show people what I can do as a footballer and hopefully get to the place where I want to be."

Welbeck, who had spent over a decade with Manchester United after first starting out in their youth academy. was sold to his current team for a reported £16 million after being unable to cement his place in Louis Van Gaal's starting line-up.
