With the summer transfer window in its last day, only hours remaining before the window shuts close, Arsenal fans were hoping to see Arsene Wenger extremely focused on securing new signings.
After the Gunners disappointing 1-1 draw away at Leicester City, a common belief amongst the clubs supporters became further underlined: Arsenal are in dire need of a world-class striker.
Young French atacker Yaya Sanogo was given the coach's trust to spearhead Arsenal's attack, but the 21-year-old failed to impress. And with Olivier Giroud out with an ankle injury until the new year, Wenger must act quick.
But after seeing Loic Remy complete his Chelsea switch, and with Radamel Falcao close to a Manchester United loan deal, the north London club are short of options.
And after hearing Wenger is headed to Rome to referee a charity match, the club's faithful have been sent into a spiral, airing their frustration in Le Prof's lack of activity on deadline day on Twitter.

As for Arsenal, if Wenger doesn't bring in a decent striker even 4th place might elude them this season.

Despite being linked with an array of goalscoring talents, including Swansea's Wilfried Bony and Sevilla's Carlos Bacca, BBC Sport's David Ostein went on the record earlier in the day, claiming the FA Cup holders will not sign a new player before the window closes.
Arsenal unlikely to sign a new player before transfer window shuts close, claims BBC Sport's David Ornstein

However, much to the Arsenal fans' relief, promising pictures of a Le Prof entourage deep in conversation on the phone appeared on Twitter, leading many to believe the long-serving French boss has something up his sleeves, and that he is working very hard on bringing fresh faces to the Emirates.

No inquiry from Arsenal for Negredo. But they have asked about Nastasic and City have no issue doing business with the Gooners. #mcfc #afc
