Super Mario's £16m Liverpool move looks all but done after the player was pictured at the Merseyside club's training ground

Although not officially announced, Italian striker Mario Balotelli will be a Liverpool player.

The Azzurri ace has been linked with a £16m move to Anfield since late last week, making his return to the English Premier League less than two years after leaving former club Manchester City, which he departed from in January 2013.

According to ESPN FC, Balotelli underwent a two-part medical in Manchester and Liverpool, and will now be offered a three-year contract, after convincing Rodgers he is the ideal man to lead the club’s attack.

The 24-year-old was later pictured at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground, doing some light exercise in a one-on-one seesion with the club's head of conditioning and fitness, Ryland Morgans, in Liverpool's official training kit.

Belief is Mario Balotelli will finalize his move to Anfield and sign a contract with Merseyside club within the next 24 hours, and could make his debut next Sunday when Tottenham host Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

Super Mario is expected to attend the Merseyside club’s Monday clash with the defending champions at the Etihad stadium.

The former Rossoneri star, known for leading the headlines with his eccentric behavior, made an eye-popping entrance when he landed in John Lennon Airport wearing these bright red boots.
