Real Madrid's Argentine ace plans on departing Santiago Bernabeu, reveals Carlo Ancelotti, whilst Khedira's future with the club remains up in the air

Real Madrid's Argentine attacker Angel Di Maria has asked to leave Santiago Bernabeu, reveals the 10-time Champions League winners' Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti, after losing his spot in the club's starting eleven.

The 26-year-old former Benfica winger was mainly used in the advanced midfield role last season to incorporate the arrival of world-record signing Gareth Bale, but could find falling down the pecking order with the signing World Cup-winning German Toni Kroos, and Colombian superstar James Rodriguez.

Di Maria, who was dropped to the bench for Los Blancos' latest match, a Spanish Super Cup clash with city rivals Atletico Madrid, is sought after by Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, with the later highly seeking attacking talent to reinstate themselves at the throne of the English Premier League.

Sami Khedira, another high-profile player linked with a Santiago Bernabeu exit duo to Les Merengues' summer transactions, is a totally different case from the Argentine, confessed the Real Madrid boss, as the German midfielder has only turned down a contract renewal.

The 27-year-old is high up on the wishlist of London duo Arsenal and Chelsea, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich also throwing their hat in the race for the 27-year-old after Javi Martinez picked up a serious injury, sidelining the Spanish midfielder for the rest of the year.

“Di María asked to go in the summer and has rejected an offer from the club,” Ancelotti stated. “The player has to look for a solution. If when the market closes he’s still here, he will work with us like last season and there will be no problem.”

When discussing Khedira's situation, the former AC Milan boss said: “It’s a different situation to Di María. He’s not asked to go. He’s rejected an offer to renew, but has a year of contract. We’ll see what happens.”
