USA fans will have the chance to see the National Team play their first home match after the World Cup in Brazil

The fixture was confirmed on Thursday by the U.S. Soccer Federation via its official website. The match will take place on October 10 in Rentschler Field in East Harford, Connecticut. Tickets will go on sale on August 22.

The team managed by Jurgen Klinsmann will return to American soil to face their first home match after a dramatic World Cup exit that saw the USMNT getting knocked out in the Round of 16 by Belgium in extra time.

Klinsmann praised the fans’ support during the World Cup and is looking forward to see a high attendance against Ecuador.

“The support from our fans in the United States and everyone that traveled to Brazil was awesome, and we want to build on that energy. We have an exciting four years ahead of us, and this is just the beginning. The U.S. team has a great history at Rentschler Field, so we are hoping for another big crowd against Ecuador.”

This match is the third confirmed friendly fixture for the National Team; the U.S. will face the Czech Republic in Prague on September 3 and Ireland in Dublin on November 18. Fans are also waiting for Klinsmann’s squad list for this match to see if Landon Donovan is called to have his last appearance with the USMNT in American territory.
