Real Madrid, who made history by becoming the first club to reach double digits in Champions League wins this past May, have been ranked by Forbes as the most valuable football club in the world.

This past May, Real Madrid finally won their much awaited 10th Champions League trophy after defeating their city rivals Ateltico Madrid.

The capital club have consistently performed well in the continental competition, having made the semi-finals on numerous occasions, and due to the presence of stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo--a one man marketing force in his own right--have been consistently ranked as among the most valuable clubs in the world.

As per Forbes most recent list, the American financial publication has ranked the squad, which is presently led by Italian tactician Carlo Ancelo as the most prolific organization in terms of revenue, ahead of rivals Barcelona.

Second, of course, is Barcelona, followed by English powerhouse Manchester United and German juggernaut Bayern Munich. Fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City ensure that England makes up 50% of the top 10, while Italy's top side Juventus finds themselves also inside this elite group.

And despite their poor domestic form, fallen giant Milan is still considered among the elite, at least financially, as they are the highest ranked Italian side financially, according to Forbes.
