At the AT&T Arena stadium in Dallas this Saturday, Mexico and Ecuador will clash for a friendly. The match will be broadcast live on TV in USA, Mexico, and Arabic countries.

Mexico vs EcuadorThe game against Ecuador is El Tri’s second on a list of four pre-World Cup matches. After demolishing Israel 3-0 at the Estadio Azteca to bid farewell to 41-year-old legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco in style, the Mexicans will try to make the most of this Saturday’s friendly.

It will offer coach Miguel Herrera a chance for him to build on the win over Israel and make up his mind about the squad’s First XI to face Cameroon in their World Cup opener on June 13.

“There are still distractions. We must continue this coordination. The movements that we want are things that we will be correcting,” Herrera explained after enjoying a morale boosting victory on home soil.

“We hope that on Saturday we have a full team, then we can begin to see others and begin to make decisions about who are going to be the core of the team.”

Meanwhile, Reinaldo Rueda is yet to announce Ecuador’s final man-squad. One player will be cut from the coach’s current 24-man list. Reflecting on this issue, Rueda told the press:

“The ultimate test of our evaluation is against Mexico and I have seven more days to make a decision. Why must I make haste?”

Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia is hoping his side will put on a great show in Brazil. They will face England on June 4 but their penultimate warm-up fixture is against El Tri, this weekend. The Ecuadorian captain was quoted as saying:

“It's an important game for the selection, and we will try to make things right. Both [friendlies against] Mexico and England are very important choices and we are going to see at what level we are to participate in the World Cup.”
