Brazil vs Ecuador Match Preview
Can Ecuador make the night of July 13 a “black day” in Brazil’s history of football?

Brazil need to score at all cost to qualify.
Brazil are in urgent need to bounce back against Ecuador under intense pressure from the annoyed local media. The Selecção haven’t managed to impress the public at all. Ahead of the tournament, Neymar and Ganso had been tipped to take the stage by storm through the help of older chaps like Robinho and Dani Alves.
However, the Santos duo is yet to click with the rest of the squad. Individually, none of Brazil’s players have been good enough while coach Mano Menezes seems to have no creative touch from the touchline. Mano’s 4-2-1-3 formation has actually failed to dominate oppositions and it remains to be seen how Brazil will approach the game against Ecuador besides their will to go all out on the offensive.
“[Against Ecuador], I think we will have to repeat some of the things we did well in the first half [against Paraguay] and not look at the poor performance in the second half,” said an unhappy Julio Cesar to the press last week whereas Dani Alves declared:
“I think that everyone has to be aware of their own responsibility within the squad and try to get better as time goes on. The competition should bring us more rhythm and understanding.
“People demand immediate results but we can't despair. We must learn to accept the criticism and get better.”
Ecuador currently occupy the bottom of Group B but things could be different at the end of match-day 3. Either of the two teams will reach the quarter-finals of the 2011 Copa America with a victory in Cordoba.
