The team revealed its decision via a press release earlier today, following the embarrassing incidents during the game against Burnley

West Ham has announced a number of sanctions to those who thought it would be a good idea to invade the pitch and voice their discomfort about the team's performance this season.

The club's press release doesn't leave any doubt, as five fans will be handed lifetime bans for all West Ham games, both home and away.

"Lifetime bans from all West Ham United matches, both home and away, have today been issued to five individuals who crossed safety barriers to enter the field of play – a criminal offence that is a severe breach of stadium safety regulations," the press release states.

One of the pitch invaders took one of the corner kick posts as a protest.

The team didn't stop there, as those who threatened the owners and threw objects to their box during the game will also be handed lifetime bans.

"A number of individuals have also been banned for life for violently throwing coins or objects with intent to injure or harm on the bridge directly in front of the Directors’ Box," the document adds.

West Ham's investigation may result on more punishments for the team's "supporters", especially for those who were caught on camera doing something that could threaten either fans or the players.

"Furthermore, a number of additional incidents, including attempted pitch incursions and acts of violence, are currently being investigated in collaboration with stadium operators LS185 and the police. The Club expect to issue further bans based on witness statements and the high quality CCTV footage available, prior to our next home match against Southampton on 31 March," the press release revealed.

West Ham sits just two points away from the Premier League's relegation spots with eight games to go. The FA is also expected to hand out a massive ban to the team which would include forcing them to play their home games at an empty stadium.
