Fans were outraged by the team's poor performance against Burnley and even tried to get to the owners' box to have their voices heard.

Shameful scenes took place at London's Olympic Stadium last Saturday, and the FA couldn't turn a blind eye to the pitch invasion that took place between West Ham and Burnley.

Several fans stormed into the pitch to voice their complaints about the team's poor form this season, and even forced the owners to leave the stadium in order to prevent further riots. Today, the FA is studying a historic sanction, as the Hammers would be force to play all their remaining home games with no fans on their stands.

According to Sky Sports, West Ham's next five games at home would be played at an empty stadium, which could be a massive blow for the Hammers' hopes. David Moyes' team is battling to avoid relegation, three points above Crystal Palace with eight games to go.

One fan took one of the corner kick posts out of its place as a sign of protest.

The Hammers are scheduled to host Manchester United, Southampton (March 31), Stoke City (April 16), Manchester City (April 29) and Everton (May 13). The games against Stoke and Southampton would be crucial in their battle to avoid relegation, as both teams are three points behind Moyes' crew at the moment.
