The Brazilian ace revealed details about the futile contract negotiations with Orlando's hierarchy, leaving the door open for a comeback.

The Major League Soccer will have to endure the loss of two of its best players, as Kaká will join Andrea Pirlo in leaving the league by the end of this year.

Kaká's decision to leave the club came after months of negotiation and speculation, as the player himself revealed.

"As you all know, my contract with Orlando City ends by the end of this season. After two months of negotiations, I'm here today to reveal that I won't renew that contract, putting an end to my cycle as an Orlando City player when the season comes to a close," Kaká stated in a press conference.

Nevertheless, the Brazilian midfielder made it clear that his decision does not include retiring altogether from professional football.

"The only decision I have to announce right now is the end of my contract with Orlando City, and only for that. I will keep playing for this team, and honoring this jersey until the end, as always," Kaká added.

Kaká has played 77 games for Orlando City, scoring 25 goals and handing out 22 assists (all-time leader). The former Ballon D'Or winner will remain with the club until the "Fuerza Puerto Rico" friendly match set to take place by the end of the MLS season.

The team paid their respects to their captain with a video tribute posted on their Twitter feed.
