Barcelona outcast Jeremy Mathieu spoke to Marca ahead of his UCL meeting with his former team-mates, and the result was a fiery interview.
The French defender admitted his bitterness over his last season with the club, which saw him being slammed frequently by fans and experts.
In the interview with the Spanish newspaper, Mathieu revealed his intention to score and celebrate against his former team-mates, especially because of the treatment received by two Barça execs.
"I respect my former team-mates, but if I score, I'll celebrate it because of how Bartomeu and Robert (Fernández) treated me. They were not nice, it made things harder for me to deal with as my time there came to an end," Mathieu stated.
The left back went on to admit he didn't leave any friends behind at Camp Nou, revealing he'd rather spend his spare time with his loved ones.
"When talking about a club, I use the word 'team-mate' rather than 'friend'. I spoke to everyone in the team's locker room, but when I left, I preferred to hang around with my children and my wife," the player added.
When speaking about the Spanish press, Mathieu aimed a dig at one Catalan newspaper, especially because of the way they slammed him after that 3-0 loss against Juventus last year.
"'Sport' (the newspaper) seemed to have something bad to say about me whenever I played, those were the only members of the press I didn't like much. They blamed me for that loss (against Juve), and it's true, I could have done better while playing one-on-one, but then the press could criticize Mascherano and Piqué as harshly as they did with me, but they made it feel like it was all my fault. Football is a team game, and you can't blame one player for the end result," the player concluded.
