Jordi Mestre, one of Barcelona's top executives, admitted that there could be a change regarding the Argentinian's future with the club.

Despite the announcement of a new deal being reached between Lionel Messi and Barcelona to have the player's contract extended, the club's Sports Director Jordi Mestre revealed that "La Pulga" is yet to put pen to paper to his new deal, which would expire by the end of the 2020-2021 season.

The exec shared his views on Messi's contract during Paulinho's unveiling with the Catalan club.

"It's all spoken and all terms have been agreed, but we are yet to set a date for him to sign the contract," Mestre stated.

The exec's words have a lot of impact, as he was the one who dismissed all rumors regarding Neymar's future by stating that the Brazilian ace would "remain at Barcelona, with a 200% certainty."

Mestre continued to make Barcelona fans nervous with his next quote.

"It's all looking good, I'd be surprised if the deal didn't go as planned," Mestre added.
