According to Mundo Deportivo, there's a very good reason for Liverpool to choose not to sell their star player this week.

Barcelona's wishes to have Phillippe Coutinho signing a deal with them this week won't materialize, as the Reds turned down a €100M deal to sell one of their best players.

According to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, this is the second bid Liverpool has rejected, as there's a good reason why Jürgen Klopp doesn't want this deal to happen in the immediate future.

The Spanish journal revealed today that Klopp, fully aware of Coutinho's desire to join Los Blaugranas, won't force the player to continue performing for the Reds. Nevertheless, the German boss wants Coutinho to help them reach the UEFA Champions League Group Stage, and with that in mind, he would love to have Coutinho around at least for the first leg of their UCL knockout tie against Hoffenheim.

Furthermore, not having Adam Lallana available due to injury played a major role in delaying this deal, as Klopp wanted to use the Englishman if a deal was reached to sell the Brazilian striker.

Despite this delays, Barça officers remain confident of their chances to sign Coutinho, but it may take a bit more than initially expected.
