The Brazilian right back snubbed an offer from the Sky Blues to join the Ligue 1 outfit on a two-year deal.

Dani Alves' words will not go down well among Manchester City fans.

The former Barcelona and Juventus defender signed a two-year deal with Les Parisiens today, which left Manchester City's execs and fans fuming. Perhaps inadvertedly, Alves had some harsh words for the Citizens' hopes of success this season, as he revealed the reason why he chose to join the Ligue 1 side.

"There's a very interesting project in Paris. I have friends here, I'm a man who loves challenges. If Pep Guardiola and Manchester City feel hurt, I am sorry. But I have come here to be a champion," Alves said.

Despite Alves' claims, fans may be under the impression that his choice was motivated for the impressive wage he'll earn with Les Parisiens, as PSG will pay the player £230,000 a week, which is £110,000 higher than the wage offered to him by Manchester City, according to reports.

Fans gave Alves a warm welcome outside the Parc Des Princes.

Just like other prestigious footballers, Alves admitted that PSG's goal is none other than winning the UEFA Champions League, something he knows how to do.

"I've had the pleasure of winning the Champions League three times and I want to bring my experience here. The President had a great power of persuasion. I like to make history, we can write it together here. The work that the club has been doing over the past several years is very encouraging, it's an ambitious team," Alves added.

Alves has won 33 major trophies throughout his career. The Brazilian International will try to add to that number with Les Parisiens, a team that dominated Ligue 1 and all other tournaments in France prior to last season, when Monaco beat them to the league title.
