SoP (Streaming over P2p) - Sopcast is a P2P based Streaming Direct Broadcasting System (SDBS). And is uses it's own developed communication protocol called Sop Technology or sop:// One of the new functions in this version is a subscription approach for authorized channels. Without an approved subscription, users won't have access to specific channels. There is an option to view before subscribing which is controlled by channel stewards / owners. Once subscribed to a channel, you can view a list of your subscribed channels in a subscription management window. Users are classified as a general user, channel user or group administrator. A new registered user becomes by default a general user who can subscribe to channels and view subscribed channels and public channels. After applying for a channel, the user becomes a channel user who can edit channel's information and can then categorize the channel into a broadcasting group.
