Pep Guardiola has sent out a personal warning to all the other clubs that would want to win the Champions League; Barca will win it if they beat Arsenal tonight.

As the whole world gets set and ready for a fantastic clash between Barcelona and Arsenal, Pep Guardiola already has other things on his mind- Champions League crown.
The former Barcelona player won the Champions League with Barcelona two years ago. Despite that, Guardiola insisted that his side will be able to go far in the competition if the overcome Arsenal at the Nou Camp tonight.
"If we go through then we will go really far in Europe," Guardiola said during a press conference.
"I am convinced that if we beat Arsenal, we will go far in this competition. If we don't get to the quarter-finals then it will not be because of Carles Puyol's injury, or Gerard Pique's suspension.
According to Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, Wilshere is lucky to be playing and he plays often because there is no pressure to win titles at Arsenal.

Jack Wilshere has been a massive player for Arsenal this year after finding his feet on-loan at Bolton Wanderers last year. Arsene Wenger has placed high hopes on the young England midfielder this season- making him a regular fixture in his line-up.
However, Guardiola also took a dig at the Gunners as he spoke about the absence of pressure to win titles at Arsenal and how that situation has benefited Jack Wilshere immensely. He also added that Barcelona do possess lots of players like Jack Wilshere in their reserve team.
"Wilshere is a top player,” he told reporters. “He is an excellent player, not just Arsenal, but also for the national team.
“[But] he is lucky because we have many players in the second team like him but he plays because there is no pressure at his club to win titles."
Manager Pep Guardiola has made his thoughts clear ahead of the Barcelona vs Arsenal match in the UEFA Champions League. The Barca coach is expecting a combination of thrill and intricacy.

The Catalans went 2-1 down at the Emirates Stadium back in mid-February, in their challenge’s first leg. A simple 1-0 victory will therefore be enough for them to progress into the quarterfinals; yet, the Spanish League leaders are looking forward to getting an overwhelming result.
Succeeding and overpowering Arsenal at the Camp Nou will obviously call for a flow of perfection on behalf of Barcelona, and Pep Guardiola strongly believes that such a pricey achievement is nothing but a huge possibility. Both giants are currently facing fitness problems in their respective squads, with Alex Song and Theo Walcott certainly unavailable for the Gunners.
He may be called the “Special One”. However, Barcelona president Sandro Rosell doesn’t see how Jose Mourinho can compare to Pep Guardiola.

The ex-Barcelona captain recently signed a new contract which should keep him at the Camp Nou until June 2012. Following the club’s achievement to strike a deal with Pep Guardiola, President Sandro Rosell shared comments describing his satisfaction. Joan Laporta’s successor also dared to compare the former Barcelona B manager to two-time treble winner Jose Mourinho.
“Every day that goes by, I like our model more and Pep [Guardiola] makes it look even better,” Tv3 quoted Rosell as saying.
“We are delighted to have him here. Pep represents Barca sentimentally.
Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola has officially buried speculations linking him with a move to the Premier League by signing a 1-year contract extension at the Spanish club.

Guardiola verbally agreed to stay longer with Barca earlier in the month; but today, he put the pen on the paper to confirm his decision. His new contract keeps him at the Camp Nou till June 2012, and by that time, he will be free to leave the Catalans to begin new adventures in other clubs.
The former Spanish international was assigned the managing position at Barcelona back in the summer of 2008, when the Blaugrana were desperate to return to winning ways after 2 consecutive fruitless seasons under legend Frank Rijkaard. Guardiola surprisingly took the spotlight in his first season by winning an unprecedented treble of the Copa del Rey, La Liga, and the UEFA Champions League.
Months later, he also led his side to glory in the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He was not capable of repeating his treble achievement in the following season, as Barcelona had to be content with their single title in the Spanish League.
"These players are worth an empire" said Pep Guardiola. Lio Messi and Andres Iniesta woke up just on time on Sunday and granted Barcelona a vital victory in the fight for the Spanish title.

Lio Messi's celebrated his 250th cap with Barcelona last week by scoring the winning goal in the last quarter of an hour. Barcelona changed completely as the Argentinean appeared in the game in the last 30 minutes, building powerful offenses along with Iniesta.
A few weeks ago, Barcelona's coach Pep Guardiola asked for the media to allow him to have faith in his players. The performance of the Blaugranas in the last 45 minutes of Sunday's game showed that Barcelona is far from taking a turn of the worst.
Barcelona must now prepare to visit Mallorca, a preliminary game before Pep Guardiola's Blaugranas lock horns with Valencia, Arsenal and Sevilla in less than 20 days. Now that Guardiola has taken the leap of faith, who can stop Barcelona from rising high to the top of the international football podium once again ?
Pep Guardiola has declared that Barcelona had no intention of signing any Arsenal player—not even Jack Wilshere or Cesc Fabregas—in the next transfer window.

Wilshere was selected as the Man of the Match in the Arsenal vs Barcelona match that ended 2-1 in the Gunners’ favour at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League last week. Following the player’s impressive performance, transfer rumours have emerged—linking the Arsenal starlet to the Spanish champions.
“He (Wilshere) is a great player,” Guardiola admitted as he praised the midfielder. “A great player for Arsenal, and in any case, Arsene Wenger does not sell his best players.”
Perhaps, the selling of Ashley Cole, Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Jens Lehmann over the years puts into question Arsene Wenger’s firm authority over his players. Yet, whatever the reason behind their respective departures were, the French manager is definitely not ready to lose his precious jewels in Jack Wilshere and Cesc Fabregas. Fortunately for him, Barcelona do not look likely to create new transfer sagas for any of the two playmakers.
Pep Guardiola has a lot of work to do prior to Athletic's visit. Barcelona's coach is eager to recover from Blaugrana's third defeat this season last week in London.

February has been an intense month for Barcelona. First, the Cule squad connected its 16th consecutive victory in La Liga, breaking a new record in the Spanish League.
But afterwards, things started going awry for Pep Guardiola's boys. Their last two matches away (Gijon, to visit Sporting, and London to take on Arsenal for the Champions League) have been rather disappointing, failing to return home with three points from Gijon and falling against Arsenal 2-1.
It's interesting to notice something similar happened last year, back in February 2010, when Barcelona fell against Atletico 2-1 and tied a Champions League game against Stuttgart 1-1. Those games were a turning point for Barcelona, as they pick up 29 of the next 30 possible points.
Barcelona fullback Eric Abidal has admitted that Arsenal will definitely make things tough for them and it will be hard to break them down.

Eric Abidal has been looking forward for this feisty clash and believes that Arsenal will never be an easy opponent to face.
Abidal said: “This match will not be easy. It is necessary that we do not make any mistakes. It is a team that can make things difficult for us, and we will need to remain very serious.”
“Pep works with us every day, he progresses on things that we know already, but it is always good to repeat this, and to repeat again to attain the best possible result.”
Guardiola has shown desire to keep Abidal beyond his contract and that is something Abidal is really happy about now.
“To be a champion, you have to beat champions.” This saying has certainly not lost its significance for Pep Guardiola, who is hoping Barcelona can face Arsenal with the Gunners at their very best.

In his time as a coach at FC Barcelona, Guardiola has witnessed the humbling of great football giants, among which were Bayern Munich, Lyon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and even Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s boys were submitted to a 6-3 defeat on aggregate in the Champions League last season, but the Premier League title contenders have since then shown signs of improvement that could add weight to Barca’s task tonight.
Samir Nasri was diagnosed with a leg injury a few weeks ago, which caused doctors to overrule possibilities of him featuring against the Spanish champions. A rapid recovery however overturned the situation, making him now available to face Los Cules at the Emirates in Arsenal’s first Round of 16 match in the Champions League.
Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola refused to critizise his player's performances despite being held to a draw with lowly Sporting Gijon.

Barcelona were on a run of 16 consecutive league victories in the La Liga and this result has successfully ended that run. It also gives Real Madrid a chance to cut the gap between them to five points.
However, Guardiola refused to blame his players and even praised them for their efforts in fighting back from a goal down.
"We did not win but we tried everything to achieve it," the former Barca and Spain midfielder, who this week extended his contract until the end of next season, told a news conference.
Barcelona’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has confirmed it: Pep Guardiola will officially extend his contract as Barca's coach on February 22. Only 1 year will be added to his current deal.

The official time for the contract extension has been set to 13:30 CET. According to Zubizarreta, finding a peaceful period to tackle this issue was the reason behind the February 22 date.
Two days before, Barcelona will be playing Athletic Bilbao in La Liga and their following match is set to take place 5 days later. Speaking to Barca’s official club website, the sporting director declared:
“We have spoken with Pep and we believe that it will be a quiet week and so it also fits in with president Rosell’s schedule. For Guardiola and for us, it has always been important to sit down and talk calmly and reflect on things.
Real Madrid don’t need to have new signing Emmanuel Adebayor to make Pep Guardiola wary. The Barcelona coach always has a lot of esteem when it comes to Los Blancos’ potentialities.

Barcelona possess a vital 4-point lead ahead of Real Madrid as they lead La Liga standings. The defending champions have their fate in their own hands and their chances of retaining their crown for the third consecutive season seem bright.
However, the cautious Pep Guardiola refuses to get carried away by the mathematical differences that put Barcelona above Real Madrid – not only in El Clasico’s recent history but also in La Liga since the past couple of years. Earlier this week, the Spanish giants successfully signed Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City in view of maintaining a competitive squad despite the long-term absence of the injured Gonzalo Higuain.
Barcelona will come up against Almeria later today in the Copa del Rey’s semi-finals, and Coach Pep Guardiola is certain that the match will not be an easy one for the home side.

Barcelona lost their last Copa del Rey match to Real Betis 3-1 away from home, despite defeating them comfortably 5-0 at the Camp Nou in the first leg. The Catalans are aware that a “surprise” could pop up this evening, and as a result, they have yet to underrate their opponents.
“I have never seen such a thing as an easy semi final,” Guardiola said speaking ahead of the Barcelona vs Almeria game. “They are always tough, and they are a big issue.
Barca humiliated Almeria 8-0 back in November 2010, in a victory which ended up being their greatest ever under the leadership of Pep since 2008. There might however not be such sweet moments in the semi-finals’ first leg encounter in the Copa del Rey today, and Los Cules’ trainer is not even thinking of repeating such an attainment.
Barca will get into action today as the second leg of the Real Betis vs Barcelona match in the Copa del Rey takes place; but Pep Guardiola refuses undervalue this game, despite his side’s 5-0 advantage.

A hat-trick from Lionel Messi followed by strikes from Pedro and Seydou Keita were enough for Barcelona to trample on the Verdiblancos at the Camp Nou, last week. Real Betis are not expected to overturn such a heavy score line against such a well-organized team—but still, Coach Guardiola has his eyes set on nothing but another convincing victory away from home in the return leg.
“The 5-0 home win was the best first leg result we have ever got from a cup tie,” Guardiola was quoted saying by fcbarcelona.com. “But if it was all decided, we wouldn’t be travelling (to play in the second leg).
Barca coach Pep Guardiola has refused to undervalue his side’s opponents in the Barcelona vs Real Betis match at the Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey. Live Soccer TV also brings you additional info on the game.

During his usual pre-match press conference, Guardiola revealed that winning against so-called lowly side was not as easy as it seemed - explaining that Betis could make this evening’s game a much tougher one than expected. His statement on totalBarca.com read: “Betis has shown that they are an offensive team that scores a lot of goals.
“Their coach Pepe Mel prepares the games very well. It’s the team that we’re playing against.
“It’s better to play them than to not play them at all, because that would mean we’re no longer in the competition. They are playing really well and besides, (in) the games against Cultural and Ceuta (in previous rounds of the Copa del Rey), we haven’t won easily.”

Remarkably, FIFA Ballon d’Or 2010 contenders Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi are all products from Barcelona’s youth academy. On Monday, one of them will be crowned football’s best player but the fact that the award is being contended by men from the same team only shows how great Barcelona’s youth system has been over the years.
This is something which clubs like Real Madrid or Chelsea cannot boast about. To think that the Catalans did not spend one penny on the transfer market to acquire these enviable superstars is amazing. Now, Pep Guardiola has stated that the entire team at Barcelona will have a reason to celebrate the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2010 award.
Winter holidays are over in La Liga and league leaders Barcelona have a tricky task at home to struggling side Levante. Pep Guardiola wants his team to kick-start 2011 on a high by avoiding complacency.

“2010 was a great year. We hope that this one will be great as well and that the people will feel happy,” the Barcelona boss told reporters ahead of his team’s first encounter in 2011.
The defending La Liga champions could open a five-point lead at the top of the standings above closest rivals Real Madrid. On paper, the Catalans are largely the favourites to come on top in the Barcelona vs Levante match. However, Coach Guardiola has reminded his squad not to lean on such analysis.
“After holidays, there is always a risk. I can remember how it was in previous years against Mallorca and Villarreal.
