Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea is one of the transfer rumors about which speculation has been most rife during the season. Now, according to reputable Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has sealed a €60m deal that will see the Spaniard ply his trade at Stamford Bridge next season.

The 25-year-old forward has been one of La Liga’s standout players in 2013/14, helping Atletico Madrid keep their title hopes alive against the challenge of heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona.

As of 13th April 2014, the marksman had already netted a whopping 28 league goals despite missing a number of games through injury. Chelsea’s trio of strikers – Torres, Eto’o and Ba – continue to struggle with Mourinho having to rely on the triumvirate of attacking midfielders in his favored 4-2-3-1 setup to come up with the goods.

The €60m offer from Chelsea activates Costa's buyout clause and he will reportedly join the Blues on June 30th.
