Juventus holds a slight advantage thanks to Leonardo Bonucci's goal in France, but will have to be wary of a determined Lyon side.

Preview: La Vecchia Signora take on Les Gones in what should be a closely-contested second leg

Following PSG's exit from the Champions League at the hands of Chelsea, Remi Garde's men find themselves in an interesting similar position to the side they will be facing in Turin. Both Juventus and Lyon are now Serie A and Ligue 1's sole representatives remaining in any kind of continental competition this season, and each squad has their respective reasons for trying to make it into the final four.

For the Bianconeri, who were consigned to the Europa League after failing to get out of their group stage campaign, they will be keen to make it to the final in May as it's being held at their home ground. As for Lyon, their 5th-placed standing puts them four behind Saint-Etienne and the last continental football berth, so naturally, they will look to overturn the deficit and take one step closer to winning their first European title since claiming the now-defunct Intertoto Cup back in 1997.

However, key attacker Alexandre Lacazette was quick to stress that his team are not feeling any pressure as France's last competitiors this season. Moreover, the 22-year-old French international is feeling quite optimistic about his side's chances in progressing to the next round.

"The fact that PSG are out and we're the only French team left in Europe doesn't affect us and our approach," he stated in a pre-match press conference.

"[However], we managed to cause Juventus some trouble during the first leg, and the narrow scoreline means that we have hope [to get through]. They have a very strong defense but I [truly] believe that we can do it tomorrow night."

As for Juventus, coach Antonio Conte is well aware of the tricky task his team faces this season. La Vecchia Signora are well on their way to maintaining their Scudetto crown, but the former midfielder has called on his squad to re-focus their energies ahead of Thursday evening's clash.

"[Currently] for me, the league [campaign] does not exist," he remarked during his pre-match meeting with reporters.

"We are solely focused on the second leg, and we would like to become the first Italian side in seven years to make it into the semi-finals."

Nonetheless, Bianconeri captain Gianluigi Buffon has conceded that his team's hectic schedule could derail their quest to claim a double this season whilst recognizing the threat that the visitors could pose.

"Lyon are a very mature side, and have lots of experience in Europe. We're heading into this game having played a lot of matches back-to-back, and some of us have featured a lot, so it definitely will not be easy," the Azzurri leader noted in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

So, who will end up in the semi-finals? The Old Lady or the Kids? With this tie poised on a knife's edge, it can definitely go either way--setting up what should be for both fans and neutrals alike an entertaining 90 minutes.
