Tottenham’s caretaker manager Tim Sherwood will be able to call upon the services of the Lillywhites’ top scorer Emmanuel Adebayor against Sunderland after missing the inspiring Togolese to an injury spell. Teammates Vlad Chiriches and Paulinho can also participate after overcoming their injuries.

These news will certainly come as a welcome relief for Tottenham fans who hope that Sherwood can improve on their position on the table as England enters the business end of the 2013/14 EPL.

“Adebayor has been training so he’s up for selection,” announced Sherwood.

“Chiriches has come through an under-21 game last week so he’s got some minutes under his belt and he’s up for selection.”

“Paulinho will be back in the squad after missing out last week through conjunctivitis. It’s not too bad.”

Nonetheless, the recovery of 3 players was countered by injury to two 2 as Roberto Soldado and Jan Vertonghen limped off injured during the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool to join Kyle Walker, Etienne Capoue and Erik Lamela in the sidelines.

“I saw the players coming off but I have not had an update,” said the manager of Soldado and Vertongen.

“They will not be available for this weekend."
