January 22, 2014 was a cursed day for three giant football clubs: Manchester United, AC Milan and PSG.

The Red Devils needed to overturn the 2-1 defeat they suffered in Sunderland a fortnight ago. They almost got the job done until David de Gea made a mess of Bardsley's 119th long-range strike.

The Black Cats thought they had booked their tickets to Wembley but Javier Hernandez delayed their trip. The Mexican's 120th minute equalizer brought the Red Devils back to life. But disaster soon consumed them in the penalty shoot-outs.
