Manchester City have maintained a perfect home record this season, with eight wins. They’ve conceded only five goals at the Etihad, three of those coming in the epic goal fest against Arsenal in mid-December.

Since their convincing 3-0 victory on the first day of the month, the Citizens have been unable to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League. They struggled to record a 4-2 win at Fulham last weekend, bringing their tally to eight goals allowed in only four matches.

What has been saving Man City recently is their remarkable goalscoring form. The only game in which Manuel Pellegrini’s side failed to register a goal was away to Stoke City, on Matchday 4. The 2011/12 EPL champions have been particularly brilliant against the league’s big teams.

They slaughtered Manchester United 4-1, Spurs 6-0, and Arsenal 6-3 at home. The only top match they lost was against Chelsea, at Stamford Bridge. So will Manchester City make of Liverpool their next victims at the Etihad Stadium?

The Merseyside Reds themselves are enjoying the time of their lives. They entered the Christmas Period on top of the Christmas Tree, as the Gunners dropped points at home to the Blues last Monday. Liverpool will be keen to show that they have the power to win the Premier League title this year. The pressure will be on the visitors to end the Citizens’ perfect home record.

One name is on everyone’s lips to do the damage: Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan scores how he wants and when he wants. His 19 strikes put him on top of the EPL topscorers chart. Will he get a few more this Thursday?
