Dortmund vs Arsenal is one of the biggest matches in the UEFA Champions League on November 6, 2013Preview: Every point is important in this three horse race

When the Gunners took the pitch in their first meeting with Borussia Dortmund, fans were breathing an air of confidence. And despite knowing that they were up against last year's UEFA Champions League finalists, with the acquisition of Mesut Özil, these Arsenal fans and players look much more confident.

Unfortunately for the North London side, a few mental lapses saw them fall at home in a 1-2 scoreline, but that did not change anything within the squad.

The Gunners bounced back this weekend with a stellar performance against Liverpool, coming out victorious with a 2-0 final score. Goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey lifted the Arsenal fans and their fellow teammates, just in time for this very interesting fixture in Germany.

On Wednesday night, Arsenal will put their 14 away match unbeaten run to the test in Dortmund. They will put it up against a Borussia Dortmund side that has won their last eight fixtures at the BVB Stadion this season.

Learning from their mistakes in the first match will be key, as Arsene Wenger believes that the Gunners desire to win that match cost them dearly.

"I believe we lost the first game because we wanted to absolutely win at any cost and we exposed ourselves," Wenger told the club's official website.

"Neither of the keepers had a save to make. It was a midfield battle, but in the end, we got caught on a counter-attack because we were all up front and did not cover ourselves. We were not happy with a draw."

A draw in that match may well have been better than a defeat.

Dortmund, Arsenal and Napoli are all even on six points now, and a defeat for the Gunners would leave them needing to most likely win their remaining two matches. A victory in Germany would give them a chance to guarantee their place in the next round with a victory over Marseille in their next match, and even potentially claiming the group.

Seeing how Dortmund played at the Emirates will have come as no surprise, but Arsene Wenger will expect a more offensive German side on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp's side likes to play a fast paced and very offensive brand of football, which could give Arsenal some chances to hit the hosts on the counter-attack, just as the German outfit did at the Emirates.

Adding to a very powerful Dortmund side is their incredible fan base. The atmosphere inside the BVB Stadion will be electric, and the home side tends to generally feed off of that energy.

The main concern for Arsene Wenger will be to keep close tabs on Polish international Robert Lewandowski. Playing at home, he tends to be more dangerous, but Arsene Wenger is confident that his side can keep a close eye on him.

"Usually at home Lewandowski is quite dangerous but it is down to use to have the ball," said Wenger. "That is the best way to keep them quiet."
